VPN Comparison: The Top Contenders for 2023

But there is one thing I'd like to see, a security audit, and one focused solely on their privacy policy

'cause so far I've only seen audits for its security elements. So then I went and tested the apps.

They're clean, modern, and packed with features.I found that all important kill switch

to help avoid IP leaks. And there's also MultiHop aka double VPN connection for some extra security. So yeah, overall I am satisfied with the Surfshark VPN app and I'll say it's a strong best VPN for Android contender

with its well-rounded app that has that exclusive GPS spoofing feature, sometimes getting a bit annoying, but it's helpful once you get it all set up and running.

Plus, I found a seven day free trial on there, so that's cool. But what makes Surfshark one of the best VPN with free trial is the fact that I was also able to get the free trial with my iPhone through the App Store.

And no matter the app, Surfshark's performance was still reliable. Browsing with the VPN connected was smooth as butter, cause, yeah, you know me And as you can see, the closer servers,

their performance is great and even the speed-drops for the more faraway servers still leaves me plenty for all my daily VPN activities. That's just one of the reasons why Surfshark is actually my preferred VPN for accessing content. It unlocks all the main streaming services including 29 different Netflix libraries.

And lastly, Surfshark has one of the best price to value ratios out there, especially since their powerful VPN also comes with unlimited device connections, and the Surfshark One Bundle

ups the value even more by adding

an antivirus into that mix. But no matter which plan you need, you'll always save even more bucks with our discount coupon. You know where to get it. Okay, now let's talk about IPVanish. Look, they don't have the most privacy friendly jurisdiction nor RAM based servers but IPVanish finally went through

an audit, so consider me satisfied, at least for now. Their apps are also fine, they're easy to navigate

and there is a standard kill switch, which of course is great, but I didn't find too many more additional features, despite all that all the necessities are here. So it's still worthy of a best VPN for PC title.

But hey, hold on, let's not go calling it the best VPN for our iPhone because that lack of a kill switch there,

it's kind of a deal breaker. Now in terms of performance, IPVanish had some unique strong points.

While testing the closest server,

I noticed the solid WireGuard based performance, but once I connected to more distant servers

it remained super fast, surprise, and that might actually be due to the lower server loads

but if you tend to switch servers a lot, then IPVanish might be your best VPN option.

But if you switch servers because of streaming issues, just keep in mind that IPVanish is not

the most powerful streaming VPN. I did get through to Netflix Canada and UK, but mm, didn't unlock Netflix Japan. And while BBC iPlayer worked, DAZN, Amazon and Disney Plus did not, and you know,

they weren't a problem with NordVPN or Surfshark, so you streamers might want to look over that way.

But hey, overall, it's a good VPN app, mostly for browsing in different locations.

It's pretty affordable too. Is it the best VPN service ever? There's room for improvement.

Now if you want the absolute cheapest VPN that can still do the job of protecting you online, then you

might want to look into PrivateVPN. Of course, that's not the only strong suit of this best VPN candidate,

but they do operate within the jurisdiction of a Fourteen Eyes Alliance country. PrivateVPN makes up for this by owning each one of their servers themselves. However, one area that needs some improvement is

with the WireGuard tunneling protocol, Basically the speeds of this VPN are not as great as they could be.

Take a look, same baseline as with any other VPN that I've tested, but very different results, which is why I can't recommend this VPN for streaming, but PrivateVPN happens to be a great VPN for torrenting.

I found a port forwarding feature as well as special P2P Support, Socks5 and HTTP Proxies,

everything a torrenter might possibly want or need. And if you want to test a VPN without paying too much,

then PrivateVPN is a great place to start. However, it's not the absolute best VPN softwarefor just any type of user.

I'd like to see that WireGuard protocol added as wellnas at least, I don't know, a couple hundred more servers. if you want a cheap VPN and lots of servers, well then hey, look no further than another best

VPN 2023 contender, PureVPN. This one is actually a step up in terms of privacy. To validate their no-logs promise, PureVPN has implemented a very nice and unique, always on audit policy, which allows for spontaneous security checks performed by third party providers. PureVPN is also faster due to their implementation of the WireGuard tunneling protocol. And I saw some pretty good results while I tested it out. These speeds are more than suitable for browsing and streaming, but besides BBC iPlayer and six four in Netflix libraries, I actually wasn't able to access a lot of other platforms, so that's kind of a bummer,

especially since they have a whopping 7,000 plus servers at PureVPN's disposal.

And by the way, do you remember last time when I complained about their split tunneling feature being

an Android exclusive? Well, I'm wondering if they heard me because this time I found it on Windows as well. They even introduced a graphic interface for Linux too. So yeah, I'm pretty excited to see what improvements they're gonna introduce next. Now look, it's not the most feature packed VPN out there

but if you want lots of servers and don't wanna spend lots of money, well then you should definitely

look into PureVPN. So which VPN is best for what and for who? Well, let's run down the list.

Privacy enthusiasts.

you're gonna appreciate NordVPN, but it's actually also a great choice for beginners.Surfshark stands out with its best price to value ratio, and is also my current recommendation for streaming. IPVanish is great to use on far away servers. PrivateVPN might be the best VPN provider for torrenting enthusiasts, and PureVPN will satisfy those who need lots and lots of servers. Anyway, I hope this best VPN 2023 list helped you with your decisions. Hey, thank you for watching, seriously. Oh, and if you're looking for those special deals, click that box on the side.

If not, hey, I'm gonna go ahead and see you in the next one.
